Joshua Calcorzi was arraigned on Monday in New Britain Superior Court in Connecticut.
Massachusetts State Police issued an amber alert early Sunday after Calcorzi allegedly took his 21-month old son from his home and stabbed the boy's mother.
An extradition to Massachusetts is not expected until next month.
