Springfield Mayor At Odds With Judge On Bail

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno is  none too pleased about the release of a gun offender on cheap bail.

Sarno released a statement on Tuesday after the bail for Maurice Bailey  Junior was lowered by a Hampden Superior Court judge from 25-thousand  dollars to ten-grand.

Sarno predicted Bailey, who was arrested in April  and has served jail time previously for carrying an unlicensed firearm,  will re-offend and someone will get hurt or killed as a result.

He said  state legislators need to move on his proposed bail reform legislation  as soon as possible.
