Does Money Really Buy Happiness?

A new study says money can buy happiness, despite the conventional wisdom that says it can't.

A research team from the Harvard  Business School surveyed more than four-thousand people in the U.S.,  Canada, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

The researchers asked people  whether they paid others to do daily tasks they didn't enjoy so they  could increase their free time.

Twenty-eight percent said they did and  what they gave up in cash they gained in happiness.

They reported  feeling less stress and being more satisfied with their lives than  people who didn't trade money for free time.

The study is published in  Monday's edition of the "Proceedings of the National Academy of  Sciences."
