One of the sailors confirmed killed from the USS John S. McCain, a Navy ship that collided with an oil tanker in Southeast Asia on Monday, attended Springfield Cathedral High School.
The Navy confirmed on Thursday that sailor is Dustin Doyon of Suffield, Connecticut, who graduated from the school in 2009.
Springfield Cathedral was destroyed in the 2011 tornado and its students were sent to Pope Francis High School.
The Connecticut Governor has ordered flags lowered to half staff in honor of the fallen sailor.
The accident remains under investigation.
