Governor Charlie Baker says there could be as many as 20 proposals for the new Amazon headquarters made in Massachusetts.
Baker says the exact number of applications will be determined by whether some cities pursue the headquarters individually or as a region.
Many cities and states across the country are planning to submit applications, with the Boston area expected to receive serious consideration.
Applications are due October 19th.
The experts say any Northeast city will have a tough time making the case for the headquarters based on taxes and cost of doing business in this area of the country.
