Arraignment Expected In Accident And Shooting

A man is under arrest after allegedly  firing a gun into the air during an encounter with a police officer in  Chicopee.

An off-duty Chicopee police officer reportedly saw a car fully  engulfed in flames on I-391 overnight Sunday and stopped to offer help.

That's when the suspect, Johnathan Roman-Miranda of Holyoke, apparently  got out, pulled out a gun, fired several shots, and ran off.

Roman-Miranda was arrested yesterday afternoon on charges of assault  with a dangerous weapon, discharge of a firearm on a highway and  disorderly conduct, according to Massachusetts State Police.
