Malnourished Dogs Taken From Holyoke Home

An animal rescue group is caring for  more than a dozen malnourished, flea-ridden dogs who were rescued from a  home in Holyoke on Thursday.

Animal control officers reportedly pulled  15 dogs from a house on Newton Street, one of which was dead.

The rest  were taken in by the Thomas O'Connor Animal Adoption Center in  Springfield.

Officials say charges are possible, but the house where the  dogs were found was condemned and may have been lived in by a squatter.
