Suit Filed To Force Approval To Tribal Casino

Connecticut and the two Indian tribes  that operate casinos in the state are filing a federal lawsuit in their  effort to open a third casino south of Springfield.

The lawsuit seeks to force the U.S. Department of Interior to approve  changes in the tribal gambling compacts with the state.

The department  has failed to issue a ruling to the Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot  tribes, throwing their East Windsor casino plans into jeopardy.
