A Springfield man is being sentenced to nine-and-a-half years in federal prison for illegal gun possession.
The U.S. Justice Department says Eric Lopez was sentenced last week after pleading guilty in 2016 to being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.
Lopez was arrested as part of an investigation into firearms and narcotics trafficking by members of the Latin Kings gang in Springfield and Holyoke, according to a statement.
