Police Contract Ratified In Springfield

It has been years in the making and now officials say that the Springfield Police have ratified a new four year contract.

The Springfield Police Commissioner John Barbieri says that under the negotiated terms of the contract patrolman will wear body cameras, administer Narcan and have a specific social media policy.

In addition, the contract addresses a residency requirement for new officers.

Mayor Dom Sarno called it "a fair and respectful accord."
