Council Finally Approves Bonds For Water

The city of Westfield is approving a  significant bond. City council members voted on Thursday to approve a  13-million-dollar bond issue to address the city's water problems.

The  bond question has failed two times previously.

Water quality has been a  concern in Westfield, especially due to the use of firefighting foam at  Barnes Air National Guard Base.

DPW officials say they hope to be able to start the project in about a month.
