Westfield Supports Grieving Family

Westfield residents coming out to support a grieving family.

A baby girl who died from her  injuries after being allegedly beaten by her father is being remembered  in Westfield.

A vigil was held on the town green on Wednesday for Lily  Torres, who was eight-months-old when she died on Tuesday.

There's also  a Facebook event, an online vigil labeled Light Up the World for Lily,  which began Wednesday and continues until Saturday.

Authorities say  Daniel Torres slapped Lily so hard she stopped breathing on Saturday.

He is being held in lieu of a million dollars bail.

Meantime, the great aunt of the girl, Lisa Seymour tells our media partner Western Mass News that all the family wants now are real answers into the death.

And, Lisa says that there is fundraising effort in order to bury the little girl.

The fund is being done through UHaul where some of the relatives work.
