Changes Coming To Supermarket Chain

A local supermarket is set to go through a bit of a change.

The Stop & Shop  Supermarket chain is going to address accessibility issues at check-out  aisles in all 400 of its stores in several states.

The company has  reached agreement with the federal government to bring all the stores  into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The agreement  was announced today by Rhode Island U.S. Attorney Stephen Dambruch.

The government investigation was prompted by a Rhode Island resident who  complained that three area Stop & Shop stores failed to provide adequate accessibility for customers who use wheelchairs.
