Springfield Considers More Pot Shops

Proposals for retail marijuana stores are continuing to be made for downtown Springfield.

The latest proposal is from city resident Dawn Cincotta for a store in  the old Lido Ristorante building on Worthington Street, which is the  fourth business being sought in the district.

The three other proposals  are for the Patton building on Hampden Street, the former Hampden Bank  headquarters on Main Street, and the Biergarten building on Main  Street.

Overall, Springfield has seen nine proposed sites for pot shops.

Community meetings are being scheduled to answer neighborhood concerns.
