Here is a reminder that a union representing Stop and Shop employees in Western Massachusetts is meeting this weekend to possibly authorize a strike.
Springfield -based UFCW Local 1459 is the last of the five Stop and Shop unions to vote, with all the others having voted to strike, according to a spokesperson for the local. Workers have been without a contract since February 23rd.
Officials say just because a strike vote is approved doesn't mean that a strike will actually go through.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Castle of Knights in Chicopee on Sunday morning.
