Speaker Says Those With Courage Are Paving Way To Brighter Future

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is this year's recipient of the Profile in Courage Award.

Pelosi was at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum last night to accept the award.

Pelosi said that members of congress who voted for her as the first female House Speaker showed courage.

She noted that lawmakers also showed a lot of courage in continuing the fight to preserve the Affordable Care Act.

The California congresswoman's family was in attendance for the black tie event.

Members of the Kennedy family and many top Massachusetts elected officials were on hand as well, as was New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
