Holyoke Man Pleads Guilty To Threatening Prosecutor

A Holyoke man is pleading guilty to threatening to murder a federal law enforcement officer.

The U.S. Justice Department says Carlos Maldonado entered the plea in federal court in Boston on Wednesday and is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

Court documents indicated Maldonado was accused of sending a threatening letter to assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Newhouse, who was the lead prosecutor of a case against him.

Maldonado is currently serving a federal prison sentence for drug crimes.
