A proposed natural gas line expansion in Longmeadow was the focus of a special town meeting on Tuesday night.
Voters approved a citizen petition which would prevent natural gas infrastructure from being placed in residential areas.
The petition was spawned by a proposal from Tennessee Gas Pipeline and Columbia Gas to build a meter station on the property of the Longmeadow Country Club, not far from an elementary school.
