The man accused of killing a woman more than 20 years ago is admitting his crime.
In court, Gary Schara pleaded guilty to killing Lisa Ziegert in 1992.
She disappeared from a card shop in Agawam where she worked and was found dead four days.
The Hampden County District Attorney's Office says Schara will serve life in prison with no chance for parole.
The family of Lisa Ziegert is speaking out after her murderer pleaded guilty in court is speaking out.
Dee Ziegert says that she is thankful for the comfort, information and support from police and the community.
She said that she is "Satisfied, but not euphoric" over the resolution of the case.
Gary Schara admitted to killing Ziegert in Agawam in 1992. More than three dozen of her family members were in Springfield District Court.
Her mother said their family's lives changed forever the day her body was found.
Ziegert's brother and sister also gave statements saying how the murder impacted their lives.
