Early start to the day for Springfield Firefighters called to 38 Rutledge Avenue for a third floor kitchen fire.
The fire quickly put out. About 5 grand worth of damage done.
A 49 year old man received minor burns. He refused medical treatment.
It appears to be an electrical malfunction that caused the blaze.
