Search Continues For Youth In Tragic River Accident

A boy from Pawtucket, Rhode Island has died after being pulled from the Chicopee River in Chicopee.

The Chicopee Police Department said officers responded to a report of two children who had gone to play in a wooded area but did not come home on Saturday; one of them was reportedly recovered, but died after being taken first to Baystate Medical Center and then transferred to Boston Children's Hospital.

It is believed the two boys ventured out onto some ice, according to the Hampden District Attorney's Office, which says the two were cousins and that the boy who died was an 11-year-old. Police are still searching for the other missing boy, a ten-year-old.
