Red Light Camera Bill To Be Debated By State Senate

The State Senate will debate next Thursday a bill that will allow communities to install digital cameras to detect those who make illegal right turns, speed or commit other traffic violations.

Communities could only install one camera for every 25 hundred residents.

Fines would be set at 25 dollars per violation.

Under the provisions of the measure, a community would have 14 days to send out a material violation to be paid or to be protested.

The governor has yet to weigh in on the measure.
