Death Toll Rises As Hearing On Superintendent Is Delayed

Two more veterans who were diagnosed with the coronavirus have died at the Holyoke Soldiers' Home.

The COVID-19-linked death toll at the Soldiers' Home has now gone up to 38.

One of the residents who died, according to family members, was Charles Lowell, a former Hardwick selectman.

A Hampden Superior Court judge hearing to delay the firing of Bennett Walsh, the superintendent of the veterans' home, has itself been postponed to later this month.
