Covid Crisis Sees Higher Numbers But More Hope

The number of deaths from coronavirus in Massachusetts is nearing five thousand.

State officials reported 139 new deaths from the virus yesterday, along with over a thousand new confirmed infections.

A report from the Harvard School of Public Health indicates that the state's death rate has nearly doubled in the last month as a result of coronavirus.

The state normally sees an average of five thousand deaths a month.

Meantime, in Connecticut officials there are out with a series of ways to reopen the state on May 20th.

On that date restaurants will be able to open with outdoor eating and salons will be able to reopen if they are able to social distance.

Both would work under 50 percent capacity.
