Call Ups For National Guard End In Massachusetts

Governor Charlie Baker has deactivated the one thousand National Guard troops that were quietly activated over the weekend.

Baker says he made the decision to activate the guardsmen because of the possibility of large protests in the state.

Baker says the National Guard was made available to municipal leaders if there was unrest.

No cities and towns requested any assistance from the Guard over the weekend.

State Police say there were no specific threats against the state and that the call ups were out of an abundance of caution.
