Springfield Police continue to investigate the city's 14th murder of the year. Officials say one man died and a woman is in the hospital being treated for gunshot wounds as well.
Officers were called out to Cortland Street early Saturday morning for a Shot Spotter call. At about the same time they received a report of a car crash.
Police located the car which had crashed into a fence. Both the driver and the woman passenger were taken to the hospital.
The woman is was treated for non life threatening injuries.
There has been no motive and no arrests.
