The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association has decided to eliminate playoff tournaments for the upcoming winter season.
The MIAA board voted unanimously to take that action on Thursday.
There will need to be a change to state health guidelines for the winter sports to be played in the first place.
The sports that are currently deemed high-risk include basketball, hockey and wrestling.
