Congressman Neal Outlines Help For Families

House Democrats are aiming to give American families with children some help.

Springfield Congressman Richard Neal unveiled the upgraded Child Tax Credit bill on Monday, which is part of President Biden's massive coronavirus relief package.

It would provide 36-hundred dollars per child under six-years-old and three-grand for kids aged six to 17.

The legislation would last for one year and also provides the option to receive the payments monthly.

The current credit gives up to two-thousand dollars for children under the age of 17.

Neal says if all goes well, the package could be passed by the middle of March and checks in the hands of families by April 1st.
