Umass President Says Pandemic Drives Tuition Freeze

University of Massachusetts president Marty Meehan is proposing to keep tuition the same for in-state undergraduate students in the UMass system in the 2021-2022 academic year.

This is the second year in a row Meehan has recommended such a freeze, which was approved by the university's board of trustees the last time around.

The freeze is intended to help students and families during the difficult economic times produced by the virus pandemic.
