California Man Faces Charges After Alleged Threats Against Dictionary Maker

A California man is being accused of threatening Springfield-based Merriam-Webster.

Jeremy Hanson of Rossmoor, Orange County was arrested last week.

Federal prosecutors say the threats were made against the dictionary company over its references to gender identity.

Hanson allegedly sent multiple online threats through the website's comments section and contact page.

He is due to appear in court in Springfield on Friday.

Company officials have not commented.
