Warren Urges Supreme Court To Simply "Follow The Law"

Senator Elizabeth Warren is calling on the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold President Biden's student loan forgiveness program. Warren and Boston Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley were among those who spoke on the issue outside the high court yesterday. Warren says if the Supreme Court follows the law instead of playing politics, then student loan debt will be canceled.

“Over 40 million borrowers have their financial futures at stake as the Supreme Court hears the debt relief case, and the ones carrying the heaviest burden are those from low-income backgrounds, Black and Latino borrowers, and public service workers like teachers and nurses,” concluded the report. “If the Supreme Court upholds the spurious challenges to President Biden’s cancellation plan, millions of Americans will remain crushed by student debt.”

Pressley says the president clearly has the authority to forgive this debt and the Supreme Court needs to apply the letter of the law and get this done.
