Top lawmakers are reacting to the Supreme Court's decision to block President Biden's student loan forgiveness plan.
Senator Ed Markey tweeted "SCOTUS striking down President Biden’s student debt relief plan denies students the chance to fulfill their dreams without fear of debt. We must lower the price of education, and the Biden administration must work to free families from this devastating debt."
Senator Elizabeth Warren also reacted on Twitter:
"The same Supreme Court that overturned Roe now refuses to follow the plain language of the law on student loan cancellation. This fight is not over. The President has more tools to cancel student debt — and he must use them."
Republicans meanwhile applauded the high court's ruling.
