Flood Warnings For Connecticut River Continue Until Thursday

A Flood Warning remains in effect from the National Weather Service for the Connecticut River in Western Massachusetts.

Flooding threats along the river are expected to persist into Thursday afternoon.

The weather service is forecasting possible isolated downpours and thunderstorms across Western Mass today and tomorrow.

Flooding on the Connecticut River is also prompting the closure of riverwalk bike path entrances in West Springfield and Chicopee.

Officials are asking the public to refrain from accessing the recreational areas during the closure period.

They say the high water levels from the river can pose safety hazards.
