Three Recruits Ousted In Cheating Probe

The Chicopee Police Department is firing three student recruit officers.

The action is being taken in connection to a potential cheating scandal at police academies run by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee in Holyoke and Boylston.

News of an investigation into the scandal broke last month.

Chicopee police chief Patrick Major says his department values honesty, accountability, and truthfulness from its recruits, and that the alleged cheating will not be tolerated.
