Massachusetts Launches Program To Help Immigrants

The state is launching a new program designed to help migrants and illegal immigrants with legal services.

The state Office for Refugees and Immigrants is partnering with nonprofit groups to offer legal help as the new arrivals come into Massachusetts.

The program will initially be offered to illegal immigrant and migrant families staying in emergency assistance hotels and shelters in the state.

The initial phase of the program is expected to provide legal help to around 800 people.
