Appeals Court Paves Way For River Cleanup

The Federal Appeals Court has ruled that General Electric must comply with previous agreements and finish cleaning up the Housatonic River.

Congressman Richard Neal says it's been 70 years but soon they will be able to access a clean river site.

The mandate will ensure the public does not inadvertently contact contaminated soil; allow for recreation; and reduce PCB levels for fish and humans.

G-E hasn’t commented on whether they will appeal further.
