Ground Breaking For New Holyoke Veterans Home

It used to be called The Holyoke Soldiers Home, where during the pandemic 77 veterans lost their lives to Covid 19.

It saw the bringing of court cases against the hospital administration over the way they reacted to the pandemic.

Today, Governor Healey and Veterans Secretary, Dr Jon Santiago will break ground on what is expected to be a nearly half billion-dollar campus which is expected to be done sometime in 2028.

The new facility will feature 234 long-term care beds in a “small house model.”

Almost 264 million dollars is coming from the VA State Home Construction Grant program.

The rest from the state.
