Police: Fights May Be Way To Be "Tik Tok" Famous

The West Springfield Police Department says there have been two fights since the Big E opened last Friday.

In both cases, the police department says the fights may have been staged with the goal of becoming viral on social media.

"It is important to remember that the Big E property is approximately 175 acres, with tens of thousands of people walking the property. Our officers respond on foot, in golf carts and sometimes in police cruisers. Our top priority is to respond to these calls safely and not endanger the guests walking on the property."

Officials say there will be an increased security presence at the fair to maintain public safety, especially on days when there are large crowds.
