Springfield Offers Options To Help Kids Avoid Violence

Springfield leaders announced a new initiative on Monday which hopes to reduce youth violence in the city's "hot spots".

Libraries, churches and other places, not to mention police officers, will begin carrying "universal community center passes" for young people who want to take advantage of programs and services.

The organizations that are involved with the partnership include the Springfield Boys and Girls Club and the downtown YMCA.
