High Bail Set For Man Accused Of Dragging State Trooper

Michael Williams Jr. of Greenfield was arraigned on Wednesday after allegedly dragging a Massachusetts State Police trooper on I-91 in Holyoke.

The incident happened last Friday afternoon after the trooper had initiated a traffic stop.

The arraignment in Holyoke District Court on charges including assault and battery and driving with a suspended license was delayed because Williams was receiving hospital treatment.

Authorities said he ran into the woods after the crash and was tracked down by a K-9 and a boat on the Connecticut River.

Williams is being held in lieu of 100 thousand dollars cash bail.
