Holyoke Bus Shooting Suspect Surrenders

Kermith Alvarez, 28, of Holyoke, wanted in connection with the shooting that took the life of an infant on October 4th, surrendered today to authorities.

Alvarez has been on the run since then and was subsequently placed on the Massachusetts State Police 10 most wanted list.

Prosecutors say that three men, including Alvarez were engaged in a gun fight in Holyoke- when a passing bus was struck by the gunfire.

It was on that bus that a mother was struck by a stray bullet.

Her baby was born- but never survived.

Alvarez will be arraigned on Monday.
