Legislature Ends Formal Sessions For Year

The state legislature adjourned its formal session without a final agreement on the nearly three-billion-dollar spending bill.

The sides apparently were not close enough on the 250-million-dollar shelter spending to extend the formal session early this morning.

The House appointed a negotiating committee to work with the Senate and adjourned until informal session on Monday.

House Speaker Ron Mariano is hopeful the spending measure can be brought back up before January.
