Teen Driver Arrested After Crash Into Cheshire Barracks

A Pittsfield teenager has been charged after crashing into a Massachusetts State Police barracks.

A spokesperson for the agency says the 17-year-old driver was traveling southbound on Route 8 in Cheshire at about 6:20 pm when her vehicle left the road and crashed through the front east corner of the barracks.

The driver and her passenger, also 17 were taken to Berkshire Medical Center for injuries; no officers or staff were hurt.

The driver was charged with OUI, speeding, and related violations.

She is free on 40-dollar bail and is due in Pittsfield District Court on Tuesday.
