A Springfield man convicted in a 2021 murder is set to be sentenced to life in prison without parole today.
Forty-four-year-old Arthur Waters was charged in connection with the kidnapping and assault of a woman in May of that year.
When the victim escaped, Waters was alleged to have shot and killed Abushante Jennings of Springfield, who had come to the woman's aid.
Waters was convicted in December on first-degree murder and related counts.
