Former AIC VP Sentenced In Kickback Case

A former American International College official was sentenced to prison in a bribery case.

The Department of Justice reports that 53-year-old Floyd Young of Shelton, Connecticut was sentenced to eight months behind bars.

Young pleaded guilty in August 2020 to three counts of bribery, plus conspiracy.

Young had served as a facilities director at AIC, Cornell Tech, and Cooper Union. Prosecutors say Young accepted bribes from contractors in exchange for pushing construction, repair, and maintenance projects their way.

Young must also repay the institutions more than 919-thousand dollars, and forfeit an equal amount.
