Sarno On Storm: "I'm Sorry"

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno has issued an apology over the city's response to, and cleanup of last weekend's winter storm.

While acknowledging the storm which dropped approximately 13 inches of snow on the city made for a demanding situation,

Sarno said in a statement that improvement must and will be achieved.

Residents expressed concerns about streets not being plowed more than a day after snowfall ended, along with a lack of plowing and sanding of roads.

The mayor has met with Department of Public Works Director Chris Cignoli to consider how to do better.
