Racial Probe In Southwick: Mom Of Alleged Victim "Disillusioned"

The Hampden District Attorney's Office will investigate incidents of racism in the Southwick Regional School District.

This follows allegations of racially charged bullying of a Black female high school student, plus an online "slave auction" held by White students.

Superintendent Michelle Willard and other administrators met with the mother of the girl in question on Thursday and said the issue would be addressed when students return from break.

Allyson Lopez, the mother says she was "profoundly disillusioned" by what the meeting.

A petition calling for the resignation of Willard, high school Principal Serena Shorter, and other administrators on Change dot org has gathered nearly 800 signatures.
