A man accused of stealing a car with a child inside in Chicopee over the weekend remains held in Connecticut.
At a hearing Monday in Superior Court in Hartford, 52-year-old Vadim Vorobyov of Springfield was arraigned on kidnapping charges, and his two-million-dollar bail was reduced to 800-thousand dollars.
Vorobyov is accused of stealing the car on Friday and leaving the three-year-old boy and the car in a parking lot in East Windsor.
He was arrested in Windsor not long after. Vorobyov, who has a criminal record dating back to 1993 in Massachusetts and Virginia, could be extradited later this week.
