The University of Massachusetts is set to become more expensive.

The UMass Board of Trustees committee overseeing finance yesterday approved a two and a half percent increase of tuition and fees for the next academic year.

The full Board of Trustees will meet next Wednesday to take a final vote on the proposal.

The board approved a two and a half percent tuition and fee increase last year as well.
