Nine proposals have been submitted to Springfield for the new justice center.
The state Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance is evaluating these proposals, one of which will replace the Roderick Ireland Courthouse.
The courthouse was temporarily closed in August of 2021 due to the discovery of mold throughout the building.
Despite a cleanup, employees sued over poor working conditions, and a settlement was reached in that case.
